As with most good things in life, the idea for blemboard.com originated in a bar. But it wasn’t just any bar, but a hotel bar in the Clarion Hotel Orlando on International Drive! While attending Surf Expo, an industry trade show, founder Wayne Warren, was hanging out with his Slingshot rep. The conversation shifted from business to personal several times, landing on a discussion regarding B-Grade inventory, or as the industry calls them, “Blem boards”. With the drinks flowing freely, Wayne made the bold decision to purchase every single B-Grade board that Slingshot had in stock. After waking up the following morning, the web domain “BlemBoard.com” was purchased. In the biggest regret of his business career, current owner James Davenport of Long Lake Marina, ditched those losers at the hotel bar and went out on the town instead.

Let’s fast forward to October of 2019. Wayne was presented with a new business opportunity, and he  decided to sell Blemboard.com. Long Lake Marina had recently acquired a specialty retail shop called Sportshaus Ski and Sport. Seeing the opportunity to combine e-commerce and specialty retail, Long Lake Marina acquired Blemboard.com, Overstockwake.com, and Overstocksnow.com.
